When choosing suitable seal design for timken bearing applications, must consider the type of lubricant, operating environment, the application of rotational speed and overall operating conditions.
1.
Shaft surface roughness is important to ensure machining on the surface of the shaft will not produce spiral grooved, because spiral grooved makes lubricant extrusion or pollutants into the timken bearing gap.
Usually forming grinding can achieve satisfactory surface roughness requirements.

Grease lubrication -

Exhaust when use of grease lubrication and friction or sealed instrument, should be in between the two bearing hole cavity set vent.
When the timken bearing cavity and atmospheric pressure difference between, this can prevent pollutants through sealed into the bearings.
