Composition and types of sliding bearings

2023-11-16

1. Composition

The main body of an ordinary sliding bearing generally consists of three parts: journal, bearing bush and bearing lining. In layman's terms, the journal is the neck of the sliding bearing, which is located in the supporting shaft part of the bearing; the bearing bush is a component used in conjunction with the journal; the bearing bush is a layer of offset added to the inner surface of the bearing bush in order to improve the surface friction properties of the bearing bush. Friction materials.

2.Making materials

The materials used to make sliding bearings are generally divided into three categories:

1) Metal materials: Commonly used metal materials include bronze, aluminum-based alloys, zinc-based alloys, bearing alloys, etc.

2) Porous metal material: The main form of this material is powder, which is attached to the surface of the sliding bearing using a special process.

3) Non-metallic materials: Commonly used non-metallic materials include aluminum-plastic materials, polytetrafluoroethylene, phenolic plastics, etc.

3. Types of sliding bearings

1) According to different classifications of bearing capacity, they can be divided into thrust bearings (thrust bearings) and radial bearings (radial bearings).

2) According to different classifications of lubrication methods, they can be divided into self-lubricating bearings, fluid-lubricated bearings and incomplete liquid-lubricated bearings.

3) According to the different load-bearing mechanisms of the bearings, they can be divided into hydrostatic lubrication bearings and hydrodynamic lubrication bearings.
