Tapered roller bearing comprised by inner ring, roller , retainer and outer ring, which can be installed separately. This kind of bearing can support heavy radial load and axial load. Due to tapered roller bearing can only transfer one-way axial load, we need to install a symmetric tapered roller bearing to transfer the opposite direction axial load. After the car wheel hub bearing is damaged, a continuous friction and collision sound of "clunking, clucking, clucking" will be heard from the corresponding position of the chassis wheel while driving. It is usually caused by abnormal friction between the brake hub and the brake pad, which greatly increases the driving resistance. In severe cases, the wheel will be damaged. The mechanism caused the wheel hub to fall off, causing a serious traffic accident.

When the wheel hub bearing is damaged, the brake drum should be removed and the bearing should be inspected for defects. When performing maintenance, remove the wheel, use a screwdriver to pry off the dust cover, use pliers to remove the locking cotter pin on the axle nut, turn the brake drum with one hand, and tighten the wheel hub fixing nut with a wrench. When there is obvious drag and friction at the bearing, immediately and slowly loosen the nut until it aligns with the nearest cotter pin hole, and insert a new cotter pin (note: under no circumstances can the Reverse the nut and loosen it 1/4 turn, otherwise the wheel hub bearing will become loose and cause early wear). After inserting the cotter pin, you should also move the end and bend it to prevent it from falling off. Finally, snap the dust cover back onto the brake drum and put it back on the wheel, hold the upper and lower sides of the wheel and shake it, allowing a little play.

If the wheel hub bearing is severely damaged, with cracks, pitting or ablation, it must be replaced. Apply grease before installing a new bearing, and then install it in the reverse order. The replaced bearing must rotate flexibly and be free of noise and vibration.
