Angular contact ball bearings have inner and outer ring raceways that are displaced relative to each other in the direction of the bearing axis. This means that these bearings are designed to accommodate combined loads, i.e. simultaneously acting radial and axial loads.

There are 4 types of angular contact ball bearings, according to the rows and contact angles:

Single row angular contact ball bearings 

Features and benefits

 * High load carrying capacity.

   The lower shoulder enables a large number of balls to be incorporated in the bearing, giving it a relatively high load carrying capacity.

 * Good running properties

   Rapid accelerations and decelerations are possible.

 * Easy mounting of universally matchable bearings

   No adjustment is needed for correct internal clearance or preload.

Double row angular contact ball bearings

 * Less axial space Can be used for applications where two single row angular contact ball bearings arranged back-to-back take up too much axial space.

 * Accommodates radial as well as axial loads in either direction

 * Accommodates tilting moments

 * Stiff bearing arrangement

Four-point contact bearings 

single-row angular contact ball bearings which require significantly less space in an axial direction than double-row designs.

The bearings comprise solid outer rings, split inner rings and ball and cage assemblies with brass or polyamide cages. The two-piece inner rings enable a large complement of balls to be accommodated.
