Diversification of new rolling linear guide pairs

      1. Development of high-speed, high-acceleration and deceleration rolling linear guide pairs

      In recent years, the feed speed of various machinery such as CNC machine tools, robots, and electronic mechanical devices has developed rapidly and has increased by 2 to 3 times. However, the rolling linear guide pairs used in these machines have higher high-speed requirements. The basic requirements for rolling linear guide pairs to achieve high speed, high acceleration and deceleration: ① No contact between rolling elements; ② Improved lubrication performance and long-term maintenance characteristics; ③ Smooth movement of the entire row of rolling elements; ④ Circulation mechanism with small impact force.

      Based on the above requirements, Japan's THK Company developed the SSR guide rail pair, which uses the following technologies:

     (1) A rolling element retainer is used in the guide rail pair to ensure that the rolling elements are evenly arranged and perform cyclic motion smoothly. This makes the SSR guide rail pair have the characteristics of low noise, maintenance-free, long life, etc., and can perform ultra-high-speed linear motion of 300m/min. This guide rail pair achieves a noise of less than 50dB at a movement speed of 100m/min, and the friction fluctuation amplitude is reduced to 1/5 of previous products. In addition, it passed the no-load test of adding 2ml of grease at a time and running for 2800km.

(2) Self-lubricating maintenance-free device. In order for rolling parts to work stably for a long time and maintain their functions, lubrication and maintenance-free requirements are very important. To this end, Japan's NSK Company has developed "KI", a resin material "solid oil" containing lubricating oil used in rolling linear guides. "Serial lubrication device", the seal in the device contains 70% lubricating oil by weight, and the lubricating oil slowly overflows to maintain long-term lubrication capability.

      2. Development trends of roller type rolling linear guide pairs

      The roller type rolling linear guide pair has the main characteristics of long life, high rigidity and low noise. It is divided into two categories: O type and X type. The X type is a new product developed by the German INA company.

      The development trend of roller type rolling linear guide pairs is mainly due to lubrication issues. Regular oil injection is necessary, but the installation is complicated and the cost is high. To this end, Japan's Memuson Company independently developed a capillary lubricating body installed in the slider body, which can achieve a stroke of 5 years or 20,000 kilometers without maintenance. The QZ lubricator developed by Japan's THK Company includes an oil pool with fiber mesh and seals, which also enables the lubrication of the guide rail pair to meet long-term maintenance-free technical requirements.

3. Rolling linear guide pair with magnetic grid measurement system

      Schneeberger has developed a rolling linear guide pair called "monorail", which combines the guidance function of linear motion with the displacement detection function of a magnetic grid-digital display. The magnetized steel strip is pasted on the side of the guide rail, and the magnetic head that picks up the signal is fixed to the slider of the guide rail pair and moves synchronously with it. The minimum resolution of the magnetic grating measurement system is 0.001, the accuracy is 0.005, and the maximum moving speed is 3m/min. The guide rail can be up to 3000mm long, with a reference point set every 50mm. "Monorail" rolling linear guide pair has the following characteristics: ① Compact structure, easy to install, and takes up little space; ② Since the measurement system is installed in the guide rail body, the error is significantly reduced and the accuracy of length measurement is improved; ③ The magnetic grid is sealed in the guide rail body, thus increasing the anti-interference ability of the measurement system.

4. Development of micro guide rail pairs

      For medical, semiconductor manufacturing and measurement equipment, THK has developed three standard products with rail widths of 1mm, 2mm, and 4mm (length 100mm), which have the following characteristics: ① Ultra-small: The smallest cross-sectional size of the LM rail pair series , ultra-miniature products with high reliability. It meets the requirements of light weight and space-saving equipment; ② low rolling resistance; ③ can withstand loads in all directions; ④ excellent corrosion resistance: LM guide rails and balls are made of martensitic stainless steel, which has excellent corrosion resistance and is most suitable for use In medical equipment and cleaning workshops.
