The main wear forms of ring failure are adhesive wear and fatigue wear. Since the overall hardness of the bearing steel ring is above HV800, it has high hardness and low wear, and shows excellent performance in resisting adhesive wear and fatigue wear. We have carried out spot checks on the bearing steel rings every six months since the initial use, and used a flash tachometer to observe the operation of the travellers. We found that the traveler runs smoothly, the running track is smooth, and there are very few flying rings. At the same time, The surface of the steel ring is smooth, with no adherent matter and no signs of deterioration. However, during the running-in period of ordinary steel rings, especially after 10 months of operation, the phenomenon of wedged wire rings will appear, flying rings will increase, and there will be irregular wavy patterns and point-like peeling on the raceways and edges of the steel rings. This phenomenon will increase with the extension of use time. Further deterioration often leads to the occurrence of cotton ball yarn defects, seriously affecting the quality of the yarn.

Bearing steel rings have wide applicability and can be used with different fiber types and numbers. The configuration of the traveler is the same as that of ordinary flat steel rings. This steel ring has a smooth surface, small deformation, better roundness, flatness, and parallelism than ordinary flat steel rings. The traveler track is smooth, the spinning tension is stable, and the end breakage and hairiness indicators can be controlled at a relatively low level per thousand spindles. Good level. The comparison of spinning conditions between bearing steel rings and ordinary flat steel rings is shown in Table 1.

The service life of ordinary flat steel rings is generally about 14 months, and they need to be removed from the machine for polishing and maintenance every three months or so. They are replaced frequently. Each time a new steel ring is replaced, there is a running-in period. During the running-in period, the spinning tension is not stable. Stable, yarn hairiness is serious, many ends are broken, and the labor intensity of lathes is high. Bearing steel rings do not require maintenance after being put on the machine. They can be used continuously for more than three years at a time. They do not need to be polished off the machine. They only need regular spot checks by parts personnel, which can maintain the stability of production and quality for a relatively long period of time.

Bearing steel rings have good wear resistance, long service life and high cost performance. The price of bearing steel rings is only about 1.6 times that of ordinary flat steel rings, and its service life is about three times that of ordinary flat steel rings. The use of bearing steel rings is beneficial to the stability of spinning quality, while reducing equipment consumption, saving funds for enterprises and reducing production costs.
