Methods of bearing fault handling and inspection

2020-07-01

Bearings are a major component of industrial equipment.Bearing problems can result in costly downtime, equipment damage and failure. In addition, large industrial bearings represent a large amount of capital investment.

In order to achieve high equipment performance and reliable operation with the lowest maintenance cost, correct processing methods must be followed. This includes bearing storage, removal, cleaning, inspection and installation.

The service life of any bearing depends largely on the maintenance and maintenance it receives. This is especially true in industrial applications where working conditions are often poor, heavy loads, dust and pollution are common on a scale.

Suitable for all design of friction resistant bearings.Bearings are available with special anticorrosive coatings, but most bearings are manufactured without anticorrosive materials.Care must be taken in handling and storing bearings to ensure that they do not rust or corrode.Even wet or unprotected relationships left behind by chemical gloves or small amounts can lead to etching in a small area, which may cause bearing fatigue.

New and restructured bearings have a protective coating shipped, usually in a protective cover paper or other packaging, and shipped in a carton or wooden case. When a new or restructured bearing is received, it will not be packaged until it is ready to be installed in the application.

Do not store directly on the cement floor, where condensation water can be collected and bearing.A pallet or bearing on a store shelf where the bearing is not subject to high humidity or sudden and drastic temperature changes that may cause condensation to form in the area.

Always put greased paper or, if not, plastic cloth in roller and tapered roller bearing cups.

Each type of bearing is designed with a unique removal process.Regardless of bearing type, the bearing must be removed with special care.Improper operation can damage bearings, shafts or housings and require expensive repairs. For smaller bearings, a puller can help remove bearings, etc.Bearing pullers cannot be mechanically removed where a tight fit, or pressed, or has been locked in a shaft. The inner ring of the bearing may be heated to ease removal.Heat lamps or other heating equipment can be used.If a torch is thrown, it will change the bearing steel's performance and the bearing must be discarded.
