Whether the bearing is installed correctly or not affects the accuracy, life and performance of the spherical roller bearing. Therefore, the design and assembly department should fully study the installation of thrust spherical roller bearings. It is expected that the installation will be carried out according to the working standard. Items of working standards are usually as follows:

(1) Check the dimensions and finishing conditions of associated components;

(2) installation;

(3) Supply lubricant.

(4) Clean the bearing and bearing related parts;

(5) Inspection after the bearing is installed.

It is hoped that the bearing packaging of the spherical roller bearing will be opened just before the installation. Lubrication with lubricating oil generally does not need to be cleaned, but bearings for instruments or high speeds should be cleaned with clean oil to remove the rust inhibitor applied to the bearings. General grease lubrication, no cleaning, directly filled with grease. Furthermore, bearings that have been sealed with grease can be used directly without cleaning. Bearings from which the anti-rust agent has been removed are prone to rust, so they cannot be left alone. When installing to the shell, generally there is a lot of clearance fit, and the outer ring has an interference, which is usually pressed in with a press, or there is also a shrink fit method for installation after cooling. When dry ice is used as the coolant and the shrink fit is installed, the moisture in the air will condense on the surface of the thrust spherical roller bearing. Therefore, appropriate anti-rust measures are required.

After continuing to run and entering the later period of use, the vibration and noise of the self-aligning roller bearing begin to increase, and sometimes there are abnormal sounds, but the change of the vibration increase is relatively slow. At this time, the bearing kurtosis value suddenly reaches a certain value. We believe that at this time the bearing is showing an initial failure.

At this time, it is required to closely monitor the spherical roller bearing and pay close attention to its changes. Since then, the bearing kurtosis value began to decline rapidly and approached the normal value, while the vibration and noise began to increase significantly, and the increase rate began to accelerate. When the vibration exceeded the vibration standard (such as ISO2372 standard), the bearing kurtosis value also began to increase. Rapid increase, when both the vibration standard is exceeded and the kurtosis value exceeds the normal value (the available kurtosis is relative to the standard), we believe that the bearing has entered a late failure production, and the equipment needs to be repaired and the bearing replaced in time.

The time from the late failure characteristics of the bearing to the occurrence of serious failure (generally bearing damage such as shaft holding, burns, spalling of the sand frame, raceway, bead wear, etc.) generally does not exceed one week. The larger the equipment capacity, the faster the speed, and its The shorter the interval. Therefore, in the actual bearing fault diagnosis, once the late fault characteristics are found, it should be decisively judged that there is a fault in the thrust spherical roller bearing, and the maintenance should be arranged as soon as possible.
