Let’s talk about the technical problems in China’s industrial development

2024-03-26

The technical problems faced by China's industrial development are diverse and involve many key links and fields. Here are some of the main challenges:

1. Integrated circuits and key components are dependent on imports: China is still highly dependent on imports for integrated circuits and key components, such as the core components of industrial robots. This limits the autonomy and innovation capabilities of domestic industrial production, while also increasing production costs and risks.

2. Insufficient precision of CNC machine tools: CNC machine tools are the core equipment of modern industry, but the accuracy of CNC machine tools independently developed by my country is still not comparable to that of developed countries such as Germany and Japan, which affects the development of high-end manufacturing.

3. Industrial software development and design capabilities lag behind: In terms of industrial computer software such as CAD (computer-aided design) and CAE (computer-aided simulation), China's development and design capabilities are still seriously lagging behind, which restricts the intelligentization and digitalization of industrial production.

4. Renewable energy technology is not mature enough: China still needs to increase its efforts in the research, development and application of renewable energy technology to achieve low-carbon and environmentally friendly industrial development.

5. Poor industrial structure: China’s industrial structure needs to be further optimized to meet the needs of low-carbon transformation, improve energy utilization efficiency, and reduce energy consumption and emissions.

In addition, there are also technical problems in specific fields, such as the lack of autonomy in heavy-duty gas turbines and the lack of key autonomous driving technologies such as lidar, etc., which all pose challenges to China's industrial development.

In order to overcome these technical difficulties, China needs to increase investment in research and development, strengthen talent training, promote in-depth integration of industry, academia and research, while strengthening international cooperation, introducing and assimilating advanced technologies, and enhancing its independent innovation capabilities. At the same time, the government and enterprises also need to work together to promote the optimization, transformation and upgrading of the industrial structure through policy guidance and market mechanisms.
