How to store precision bearings?

For the bearings we store, rust means scrap. So today let’s talk about the precautions for bearing storage.

1. Temperature

It is recommended that the best storage temperature for bearings is 20°C without significant temperature changes. Taking into account the limitations of actual conditions in summer, the temperature of the bearing warehouse can be controlled at around 30℃-34℃. The temperature change within 48 hours shall not exceed 10℃. The managers of Kent Bearing's warehouse will record the temperature value of the warehouse on time to ensure that the temperature is controllable.

2. Humidity

The air in the bearing warehouse must be clean, dry, and free of acidic and corrosive gases and water vapor. The warehouse needs to be kept clean to prevent the bearings from coming into contact with dust.

3. Warehouse conditions

It is best that the warehouse is only used to store bearings. If it must be placed in the warehouse with other goods, these goods cannot be acidic or alkaline items, let alone directly contact the bearings. If some harmful items are stored with the bearings, then these items should at least be stable and not produce harmful gases. The decoration materials of the warehouse must not produce harmful gases. Keep the bearings away from direct sunlight.

4. Bearing placement

Bearings cannot be stored directly on the ground, but should be placed on shelves with the lowest part of the shelves at least 20 cm above the ground. At the same time, the shelves should be kept at a certain distance from the walls of the warehouse. The bearing shelves should be smooth and solid. If conditions permit, it is recommended to lay a layer of moisture-proof paper on the shelves. Bearings cannot be stacked too high or placed vertically. It is best to have support on all end faces.

5. Inventory control

All bearings in the warehouse must be inventoried at least once a year. Kent Bearing generally conducts inventory based on the bearing's production date, packaging appearance, monthly consumption and customers, and then conducts appropriate classification management of the bearings based on the results of the inventory. When shipping, follow a first-in-first-out process.
