There are many commonly used bearings in automobiles. From the perspective of usage location, there are mainly three types:
1. Wheel hub bearings
The wheel hub bearing is mainly responsible for load-bearing and accurately guiding the rotation of the wheel hub. It bears both axial load and radial load, and is a very important component.
2. Clutch release bearing
The clutch release bearing is an important part of the car. It is installed between the clutch and the transmission. The release bearing seat is loosely sleeved on the tubular extension of the first shaft bearing cover of the transmission. The return spring keeps the release bearing's shoulder at all times. Resist the separation fork and retreat to the final position, keeping a gap of about 3~4mm with the end of the separation lever (separation finger).
Since the clutch pressure plate and separation lever operate synchronously with the engine crankshaft, and the separation fork can only move axially along the clutch output shaft, it is obviously not possible to directly use the separation fork to move the separation lever. The separation lever can be rotated through the release bearing. The clutch output shaft moves axially, thus ensuring smooth clutch engagement and gentle separation, reducing wear and extending the service life of the clutch and the entire drive train.
3. Sliding bearings
Sliding bearings can be classified as follows:
According to the bearing structure: round bearings, elliptical bearings, three-oil blade bearings, stepped surface bearings, tilting pad bearings and foil bearings, etc.
According to the type of lubricant: oil lubricated bearings, grease lubricated bearings, water lubricated bearings, gas bearings, solid lubricated bearings, magnetic fluid bearings and electromagnetic bearings
According to the direction that can bear the load: radial (radial) sliding bearings and thrust (axial) sliding bearings
According to the bearing material: bronze bearings, cast iron bearings, plastic bearings, gemstone bearings, powder metallurgy bearings, self-lubricating bearings and oil-impregnated bearings, etc.
According to the thickness of the lubricating film: thin film lubricated bearings and thick film lubricated bearings;
Sliding bearings are bearings that work under sliding friction. It has many advantages, such as: stable operation, reliability and no noise. Under liquid lubrication conditions, the sliding surfaces are separated by lubricating oil without direct contact, thus reducing friction and surface wear, and the oil film has a certain vibration-absorbing ability. However, the friction resistance is relatively large when starting.
Sliding bearings are generally used in low-speed and heavy-load conditions, or in operating parts where maintenance and lubricating are difficult. The part of the shaft supported by the bearing is called the journal, and the parts matching the journal are called bearing bushes. The bearing lining is a layer of friction-reducing material that is cast on its inner surface to improve the friction properties of the bearing pad surface. Bearings are divided into split and integral structures. The materials of bearing bushes and bearing linings are collectively called sliding bearing materials.
